Chatty Cafe

The Chatty Cafe is open from 11 am to 1 pm every Sunday and 12 to 1pm every Friday, for people to drop in for a hot drink and chat. There are a wide range of leaflets available offering signposting, help and advice for those in need and a free children’s clothes bank.

Chess and Chat Club

This meets every Tuesday at 1.15 pm- 3.15 pm. We play mainly chess but other games such as draughts, scrabble and dominoes are also available – but no electronic games! Bird-watching Club

This new club for both amateurs and the more experienced is focused upon actually watching birds in a natural setting and trying to learn more about them. Our goal is to foster an understanding and appreciation of bird species, with very short walks to observe nearby birds and occasional bird-watching trips to various habits including wetlands, hills and woodlands. “Let’s Make Friends” – ESOL for beginers

Our small, friendly class for adult speakers of other languages meets once a week for two hours of informal but intense study. Learn the fundamentals of grammar, functional English and how to hold a meaningful conversation and make friends. For more details email: –

Headcorn Social Club

This weekly informal social club meets on Wednesday evenings for activities such as arts and crafts, board games, barbecues, walks, wine tastings and so much more! For more details contact William Messenger on 07875 438368 or email:-

Laughing Workshop

The Laughing Workshop meets on the first Saturday of every month at 10.30 am. It is a type of yoga that boost health and well-being by exercising all the face muscles and releasing healing endorphins. For more details contact Cathy Hill on 07927 054708 or email: –

Empower Fitness Class

Beworthy Meditation Group

The Meditation Group is led by Mindfulness expert and Grief Counsellor Becca Worthington and meets on a Friday from 1.15-3.15pm in the Elizabeth Hall Schoolroom or sometimes outside, in order to enjoy and appreciate nature, especially soothing birdsong. Merry Widows

The Merry Widows Group meets at 11am every Thursday and is open to anybody who has lost a close partner, either recently or years ago. We meet just to relax, chat and open up about our loss whenever we feel like it. This year we are planning some outings and pampering experiences. For more information please email : –

Mulberry Zingers

The Mulberry Zingers choir, led by professional singer Heather Barnes, meets most Wednesdays between 1.15 and 3.15 pm. This group is ideal for people with some experience of singing. For more details contact Heather on 07909 521927 or email: –

Penny Kemp’s Community Pantry

Penny Kemp’s Community Pantry, led by Martyn Jones, opened its doors in the Autumn of 2023 to tackle the twin problems of food waste and food poverty. Singing for Health

Singing for Health is the largest group which meets at the Heart of Headcorn and was originally an initiative of the Patient Participation Group. Stargazers’ Astronomy Club

Astrophysicist Paul Horton of the University of the Third Age runs the Stargazer’s Club on the last Tuesday of every month from 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm. Activities include Powerpoint presentations on astronomical subjects and some live star-gazing near the Old Methodist Church graveyard and Parsonage Meadow. For more details, email: –

Heart of Headcorn Youth Club

Headcorn Youth Club was meeting every Monday between 7 and 9pm but this has now changed due to KCC restructuring. The club will return as soon as possible, for young people aged between 11 and 16. We hope to retain the excellent services of KCC-trained Rob Yorke. Activities vary each week and include the opportunity to prepare for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. For more details email: –
